Valeton GP-100

I've had this pedal for about a month right now and to say im plesently would be an understatement.

First off: the options are endless. When i bought my first pedal (a looper) I didn’t think I needed effects, but after buying this I realised I was wrong. It had every you need as a a beginner, even a loop.

I would still prefer my separate looper since it has a longer record time and it is easyer to loop. Using the looper of the valeton gp-100 forces you to nail all your extra layers since you cant delete the last one you took. If you failed one of your dubs you have to delete the whole file. Which in my opinion is a horrible design but it is better than nothing ig.

The druk machine is very gimmicky. I have seen myself using drumbeats only 4 times. But I do like the metronome which is also a type of drum. I usually use it for practice.

All effect work great. My favorite must be one of the choruses. I also like the ac-sim a lot, but I keep having to following problem when using it:
When i strum my guitar too hard it keeps making a sound like it it breaking. So I would'nt use it with loads of distortion.

The design it self is great. It is full of metal and has enough ports. My only irritation is that the input jack is on the back and not the side or front. Which makes your guitar cable do a weird turn when using (if you have 2 straight jacks). But that is really my only issue about the design.

Software works great. I just hate to tear my music setup apart if I need need to make a specific tone. So I see myself using the in build tone editor.

Whe expression-pedal (wah-pedal) is okay. It is standard set to be a volume-pedal. But i did find it kind of confusing how to make it a Wah-pedal. But now that i've set it correctly i can say that it is fine.
NOTE: when using a wah-pedal you use one of the 10 effects you can use at most. So I would only recommend to use a Wah when you really need the sound.
Like if you dont use the wah-pedal onoy then you can use compressor (which is kind of annoying).

Even though I went over all the things I didn’t like. You must know that this thing is a great beginner product and I cant reccomend it enough. 100 effects for 120 euro's is awsome and can't be dissapointing.
The ammount of saved is good the effects all work as intended and the tuner is one of my favorite Features.

Conclusion:
The valeton gp-100 is'nt a perfect design. But for 120 euro's it is damn near perfect.
I would recommend this for new gitarist who are looking for their first effects (just like I was).

It's perfect for th prise.
But not without any problems. USB Driver for the device is working OK on my laptop, but does not work on my desk computer. Without going into details the driver does not work properly on Windows. And what is even worse, i wrote to Valeton's support describing my problem and have not got even a support ticket number. It seems like they do not support their clients at all. I was left one on one with my "partly working" device.

Its not often you buy something that surpasses your expectations but Im dead chuffed with this unit. Just your average time to time player,Ive had a Pod 2 and a Roland Micro cube both of which I liked but this is the one l really connected with and you get the sense of playing a proper amp on it. I was also totally shocked to discover that the USB is Audio In & Out which means I can plug it in to the computer, have my headphones connected to the GP100 and noodle away whilst the output of the computer comes to the headphones too. So useful for practicing against youtube tutorials etc. It was recognised without drivers tho it needed to be on the back usb ports on my MacPro 5,1 after that it worked great. I opened a new project in Logic, hit record and bingo, hi-quality audio recorded straight in, no faffing with mics etc. I really like a lot of the presets and like the Chorus-A a lot. The amps sound nice to me, I only finally learned about the different sounds of each type recently and discovered that my favourite is the Fender Tweed sound and this seems to do that well. Drum machine inside is simple but will be useful. I didnt want to spend a lot of money, just wanted something to practice with headphones on and was amazed at what came in the box. Happy customer.
